With over 30-years' experience in the power industry, Techno forayed into generation through the acquisition of Simran Wind Project Pvt. Ltd. in 2009. Simran Wind Project Pvt. Ltd. has an installed capacity of 151.85 MW. With its existing knowledge in engineering and project management, the Company carried out a detailed inspection of the asset after acquisition of the assets and improved asset utilisation and demonstrated the capability of almost matching capital-cum-operating cost of wind energy with that of thermal power generation.

The aim to become a major player in the green energy space, Simran plans to expand its existing capacity by another 87.6 MW by June 2012. Going deeper in the green energy space Simran Wind Project Pvt. Ltd. aims to own 1250 MW of renewable energy capacity by 2017 by adding 150 MW to 200 MW each year.
