Our renewable power initiatives have been instrumental in contributing to India’s sustainable energy goals, generating clean and reliable power from the regions favourable wind resources. Between 2009 and 2013, as an Independent Power Producer, we successfully developed 207.35 MW of wind energy projects in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka for US $200 million. Our entry into this sector was marked by the acquisition of two wind power generating companies, namely Simran Wind Project Private Limited and Super Wind Project Limited.
Notably, our projects were among the first few to secure registration under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCC) for Carbon Credits. In collaboration with governmental initiatives like the Green Energy corridor, we extend our commitment towards an environmentally friendly future.
In line with our strategic approach, we have undertaken selective divestments of certain wind power assets to optimize our operations and unlock additional value. These divestments have yielded substantial cash inflows, enabling us to realign our portfolio and position ourselves for future growth opportunities.
» Sold 44.45 MW at an effective valuation of Rs. 2150 million in FY 2015-16
» Sold 33 MW at an effective valuation of Rs. 1650 million in FY 2017-18
» Sold 108.9 MW at an effective valuation of Rs. 4250 million in FY 2022-23
We continue to generate green power by operating 3MW and 18MW capacity wind turbines in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, respectively. As we move forward, we remain poised to seize new growth opportunities and make lasting contributions to India’s sustainable energy landscape.
